These are a few base rules that will start you out on the right cash table.
In cash games use the poker lobby to your advantage. Look at this full tilt lobby below:

What you want to look at is the average pot and the players per flop, the higher the average pot the better. You will find the higher the average pot; the looser the players.
The PLR/FLP are the amount of players that will see the flop per hand, you can only judge the amounts if the tables are full. Do not judge this on tables with less than 5 players.
Your ideal game should have a high average, be nearly full, and have about a 26 – 30% PLR/FLP. This will mean that 2 – 3 players will be seeing a flop, and usually building up a large pot.
Something every player should use is the note system. If you have found one of the tables above, take a look at it for 50 or so hands. Check players betting patterns and take notes. What player are they? They may leave, but if you are serious about winning, then you will look at it as information gained for free, and you may come across them again. Make sure your notes are detailed, the best way to do this is ask yourself the question; if I looked at these notes in a year’s time would I understand them? Taking notes is benificial because it gives you an advantage over your opponent before you have even sat down, you know how they operate, and they will not know anything about you.
Never play a table because you like the name, or because you run well on it last time, play the tables as listed above, they are the most profitable.
Make sure you are playing the right table limit, and have brought the right stack onto the table, to do this check the bankroll management section.
