Up and down player Michael Tureniec is currently riding one of the highs of his short poker career after successfully taking down the EPT at Copenhagen 2011.
Tureniec was an unknown player until 2008, when he ran deep in the 2008 EPT London, finishing second behind Michael Martin. Then Tureniec posted some decent results in 2009. However, 2011 looks like it might be a great year for Tureniec, who has taken down just under €500,000 for winning the EPT Copenhagen.
The Swede found himself heads up with fellow Swede Per Linde on the final table, eventually taking down first place. With this cool half a million Euros, Tureniec has now taken down over $2.5 million in his short career.
However, the money was not at the forefront of Tureniec’s mind. His first thought in an interview after the tournament surrounded getting his driver’s licence!
Tureniec beet 448 players on his way to becoming EPT champion. An astonishing 1/3 of the field won their way to Copenhagen through satellites at the world’s biggest poker site Pokerstars.
Next up on the EPT circuit is the Snowfest event in Sallbach in Austria from March 20-25th. If you want to try and qualify to this tournament make sure you check out Pokerstars.
