In Texas Hold’em it your hand ranking is defined on five cards, this includes the five community cards and your two pocket cards. Bellow you will see a chart with the hand rankings. Starting with the best hand at the top, and going down to the worst hand at the bottom. For each hand rank it is always the higher rank that wins. For example a pair of aces beats a pair of kings. A straight flush nine high, beats a straight flush eight high.

Rank

Hand

Example

Explanation

1
Royal Flush Poker Hand Ranking Five cards in a row, 10 through ace with the same suit.
2
Straight Flush Poker Hand Ranking A stright flush contains five cards of the same suit in a run.
3
Four of a Kind Poker Hand Ranking Four of the same card.
4
Full House Poker Hand Ranking Three of a kind, plus a pair.
5
Flush Poker Hand Ranking Five cards of the same suit.
6
Straight Poker Hand Ranking Five cards in a run, but not of the same suit.
7
Three of a Kind Poker Hand Ranking Three cards of the same value.
8
Two Pairs Poker Hand Ranking Two pairs, is excatly how it sounds.
9

Also bellow this you can have no hand, or high card, this is when you have none of the above hands. Therefore, your top card plays, for example, A, K, 10, 3, 2 on the board and J 5 in your hand, your best hand would be A, K, J, 10 and 5.
